I feel this sticky should be updated or removed.

Here is why.

Bamboo Plant (Bamboo sp.) vague reference.. many species of bamboo will grow long term submersed.

as well as the following:

Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis) grows submersed long term

Japanese Rush (Acorus sp.) there is a true aquatic version of this plant.

also the note at the bottom

"NOTE: Most of these are bog plants or marginals (live close to water), and some of them will survive much better if the leaves are kept out of water. If you have any questions or comments regarding this list please let me know."

Almost all the plants that are in the aquarium hobby are marginal plants that doesn't mean they are not aquatic, just that they are not obligatory aquatic.
