What is it? (Equipment)
Bought a basket of fish supplies off craigslist ages ago and found this stuffed in a whisper airpump box yesterday....it's obviously NOT an air pump but I have no idea what it is actually for but it looks like all the pieces are accounted for. it says "aquatech 3ph" and "reagent"
What is it and how do I use it?

Use it to help circulate water, attach tubing from the output running out of the tank to help oxygenate the water, or attach pre-filter or a sponge filter to the input for additional beneficial bacteria growth

Pump motor (black thing with the cord)
Propeller (stick thing with the green paddles)
Water pick up/ exit tube with a defector (long tube, plastic thingy on top that's flat)
can not tell what the little black thingy is...
These are all parts of a pump and or powerhead they are designed to come apart like this to clean or change parts.

Re: What is it? (Equipment)
The little black thingy slides into the top of the power head there there are "slots" . . . it covers them up, I'm not exactly sure what it's meant for, but that's what it does. lol.
I'm guessing that's a Marineland Powerhead, because my marineland power heads have all those parts, and looks exactly the same.
Slip the impeller (propeller thing) into the power head it should "suck" right in, because the impeller is basically a magnet, and the slide and rotate the exit tube/water diffuser under the power head so that it covers the impeller.
slide in the black plastic thing on top of the power head.
Now that I think about it, I think that black plastic thing is meant for mounting the power head to the side of the aquarium, so that it's suspended in the aquarium, and the black plastic thing has a little nub so you can insert it into a "cradle" so to speak (which isn't pictured, so I'm guessing you don't have that part...but it's not really crucial.)
Looks like this (note the cradle is present in this picture)

Re: What is it? (Equipment)
Yeah, I pulled it apart to show all the parts >>
it is an aqua tech says so on the motor.
I found the strainer thing elsewhere in the pile of supplies now that i know what it's for lol The cradle thing alas is not anywhere in my supplies. but hey 95% of it is better then the two motor-only filters that also came in the basket (no tubing no impellers :/ )
Would definatly be cool for a sponge filter when I set up another tank - this is rated for 20 gallons and i have an extra filter that's rated for 15ish
Thanks so much XD
