jettej's Emersed Plants!!!
shout out to binbin9....
I purchased some plants from binbin9 and they are nice and gave me a very good deal!
But a few days later I noticed my plants are dying/melting because I don't give the plant the proper care , so idk what to do, till I contacted binbin9 again.
He suggested that I should try "Emersed Planting" since I don't have a tank that is well set-up for plants, so I got all excited and purchased the materials.
All can be found at Walmart: (If not go Home Depot)
Brinks Light Timer-$4
Sterelite Tub-$7.50
Scotts Top Soil-$2
Total with tax: $15ish
Things i got:
Light-Fluorescent 8000k
6x Paint Mixing Tubs
Here are the Pics:

Thanks!
Btw
Updates:
I went to a longer light
From 15w to 17w-not a big change but better coverage. I am thinking i should get a ultra light for them but i'm worried that the light will be to strong and basically dry out all the plants. My Light time is approx 12-13 hours a day. Rest is light coming from outside during the day.
Any suggestion guys to improve growth and colororations?
Thanks!

Re: jettej's Emersed Plants!!!
its definitely a lilly which cant be grown in emersed. I would put it back in water if it isnt too late.
try to keep the humidity high by keeping them covered and mist with a spray bottle every few days to keep them from drying out.

Re: jettej's Emersed Plants!!!
As far as light goes, that really is the deciding factor in growth rate, all other factors follow. For an example, the Kale I am growing in my sump gets 18h of 150w 4300K Metal Halide and shows explosive growth. Keep in mind, the more light, the more you will need to be on top of nutrients. I would also switch to a more red light if you want faster growth, something like a 2700k bulb. Blue light works great as well, I have just noticed red to promote noticeably quicker growth.

Re: jettej's Emersed Plants!!!
So nutrients meaning?? Fertilizers? What i did atm is i added 1 more 15watt Eclipse natural daylight that will be turning on the same time with the 17w . I did spray some fish tank water on them. I added some java ferns, anubias and other stuff i'll take some pictures when i get home tonight after work.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Adding more light and more plants wont help the struggling ones. It just adds more competition for nutes.

Yes, the more light you add the more you will have to tend to nutrients. Light is simply the easiest growth rate factor to control in a controlled environment, however more light means more nutrients will be needed. Being as that is immersed I wouldn't go too hardcore on the light or it could get easy to dry your environment out.

Re: jettej's Emersed Plants!!!
for the anubias, may have been better if you didnt split the leaves off and dont bury the rhizome.
Over all the plants look a bit dried out, so try a bit more misting. Subwassertang should be kept submersed. Other mosses can grow in logs if kept in high humidity.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] SO I'm assuming 32Watts is decent. Not too high not too low.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] The leaves that are splitted were just the ones that fell out of the stem. And yes the subswassertang is submersed in the Greenhouse's water supply.

Re: jettej's Emersed Plants!!!
Yeah that's fine man. It is said that Fluorescent bulbs lose about 10% of their effective PAR output every year. I replace my halides, high pressure sodium or flouro bulbs every 6 months as I have noticed a decrease in growth rate from about month 3 to 6. That is simply personal experience.

Re: jettej's Emersed Plants!!!
UPDATE!!!
My indoor Emersed is not really giving a decent amount of improvements (personal judgement) so I wanted to optimize their needs. I installed a aquarium heater and set to low and now it's on a test run with lights on. so i have a base Temp. and not go over the limit. the bacopa seems to be growing well java fern starts to grow and the plant# 6 from previous picture are starting to grow leaves. I added some plants here and there temporarily.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
AND next one is i set up an outdoor Emersed plants.
Both have covers against rain and direct sunlight.

Re: jettej's Emersed Plants!!!
Another Mini update.
I just realized that my set up that I generated regarding the Plant Box's internal environment is working great!!!
I have set the water temp. in the box to go from ranges of 75F to 80F. And a Mist at least a day with tank water infused with co2. The results are great after 5 days from last post^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Bacopa Keep growing taller.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Here is #6 They dried a little bit on the first week of the set up. and they grow slowly. (But at least they survived!)
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Here's a Marsilea that i just literally planted 4 days ago with only 2 leaf now its 4.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Another shot of #6 Pot
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
#2 and # 5 No significant changes
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
#4 Pot Staying strong.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
Here how my Box looks like With all the humidity/moist, and perfect temp. you can compare it with my previous update.
