Tropical Fish Breeding Outdoors Tutorial
Today was beautiful outside so I made a video tutorial of how to setup ponds to breed fish outside. Enjoy and if you find this info useful, please share on facebook/other groups you're a part of.

Quickly threw in some plants for my pond tonight! I will get better pics this week with my real camera, it was dark out and a cell phone pic.

Re: Tropical Fish Breeding Outdoors Tutorial
Definitely inspired me to start a few of my own outdoor tanks/ponds. I have a 10gal that's been outside for a month or two now that has floaters in it, I've just been waiting for the temperature to be right to add fish.
Do you change the water in your tanks or just let it run its course? I wanted to do guppies this summer, but after the over stocking inside I only have two adults left, with over a hundred fry. But my group of white clouds will probably be perfect! I've also studied gouramis and learned they are also considered sub tropical, so I may do a pond with either my blue or gold pairs.

Dammit, Justin. Now I'm not only resealing a 120, but also getting a kiddie pool. Or two.

Lol you're welcome. You can't beat a $12 258 gallon kiddie pool pond, unless it's free I suppose.PvtPain66k wrote:Dammit, Justin. Now I'm not only resealing a 120, but also getting a kiddie pool. Or two.

Would adding substrate help at all or just make things worse?

I don't think it would hurt but it makes tearing it down a lot more work after the season.
