GBR with white spot?
I discovered my female German blue ram has a white spot on her. It almost appears to be an injury healing but I am not positive. The male was hassling her so I separated them and will be near a store tomorrow to get treatment if necessary. I would like your input.

looks like scale damage or ich. either way a little salt should definitely help. what PH and temp are you running for them? i know they enjoy rather warm water and super low ph.

It looks more like scale damage to me too. There is a scale that appears to be sticking out where that spot is and I don't see any other spots on her or any other fish for it to be ick. The temp is about 80 usually in that tank. I will pick up some salt today and see if that helps her. I think that he was harassing her because they are about to breed. Her belly was deep pink, almost red colored and he was all colored up as well.

Re: GBR with white spot?
I would not add salt, just give her clean water and lower the temps a bit. Secondary infections will thrive in the warm water. The old saying of raising temps and adding salt, cant be more wrong.
Just separate her so that she doesnt get 1) picked on more 2) stressed out from the bullying which will cause more issues. Keep the water clean, she will be fine, it is a small wound.

I have her separated in an extra large net right now and I will lower the temp in the tank when I get home. She is still just as active and eating and swimming fast burst in the tank so I wasn't in panic mode yet. But since I was close to medications I'd figure I would cover my bases. Thank you both for you help.

All is well. Her spot is gone, and I returned her to her partner and they are dancing away
