I'm getting a 150 gallon for free!!!
Oh my gosh I am waaaaay too excited for this since it will just be sitting in the garage until I can save up money for putting it into the wall but I am so freaking excited! It's a 150 gallon (72"x18"x24") a friend of mine text me and asked if I wanted to for free! Can't wait to transform this into a tropical planted oasis! haha

I plan on putting a refugium under this tank instead of HOB's or canisters. Would it be safe to put CO2 in the last refugium compartment before the water enters back into the tank instead of directly into the tank?

He said I will need to get tops for it, which those are cheap enough. He is going to send me a pic to be sure there are minimal scratches but he doesn't think there are many. His boss just dropped it off and covered it and he didn't inspect it well just knew that it had been recently emptied and held water and all.

Have you decided what large cichlids you are going to put in it?
Not saying thats the way you should go....

haha I do like large cichlids, but I made a deal with my boyfriend. He asked if he built an in wall tank if I would get rid of the ones on stands taking up floor space. I agreed easily! So hopefully if all goes well with the fish and the size of the tank I will be able to combine my 20 gallon, 30 gallon and 75 gallon fish all into the 150. Granted there are only 6 fish between the 20 and 30 gallons lol. Hopefully in the future we are going to put in another larger one that will be either SW or discus that will be visible from the living, dining rooms and kitchen. This 150 will be going in the hallway.

Well the puffer has special water needs so he cant be put with the others. The breeding Angels shouldnt be moved, this would just ruin their routine. And really the stress of moving the fish in the 28g bow and 75g would not be just too great...
Sounds like all the tanks need to stay.
It really is hard to justify it with non fish people!

The puffer would stay on his own. I do understand that. I haven't been raising the fry from the breeding angels I don't have the time or the space now for them. So I transferred over to breeding BN plecos. I wish I could convince him that I could just have a fish room! lol But that won't happen. I'm lucky I have 4 tanks now.

I was trying to help you to justify keeping all the tanks! I know a deal is a deal.
I think the puffer should get the 28 gallon bowfront.
Just make sure to keep at least one tank as a back up/hospital tank. They do come in handy.

Re: I'm getting a 150 gallon for free!!!
I have so many "hospital" tanks it's crazy 3 five gallons, a ten gallon, a 20 gallon, and a 16 gallon. The BN pleco's I think will keep the 30 or get a 20 gallon and the puffer is going to be upgraded here soon. He still hasn't grown any and it's been almost 2 years I've had him. I'm guessing he's just going to be a little guy for whatever reason. But I want to add some other fish, a knight goby or mollies to the tank as well so I am going to make it a bigger tank.
