Aqueon Modular LED Light died
I've had the fixture for about 8 months and when I went to turn it on this morning nothing happened. I checked the plugs and the power source and I'm stumped. Anyone else have any problems with these? Or any solutions? I have a backup T5 light but it seems to bright for the fish, they don't want to come out of their hiding spots.

I've have two of these but have not experienced any problems with them. The LED bulb strips are removable and exchangeable. I would first pull the bulb and reseat it just to make sure nothing has gone wrong with the bulb connection (like coming loose). Then, if it still won't turn on, you could try replacing the bulb strip. They are not cheap but cheaper than a new light. Keep your receipt for the bulb strip as if that doesn't work you may want to return it for a refund.

Aqueon has really good customer support (in my experience); I would call them and see if they can replace it for you. I did, and they shipped me a whole new dual T5-HO fixture when the ballast in mine went bad.

There really is not much to go bad on those. My guess is either the switch or the transformer. Take the fixture and open it up so you can access the individual tubes. Plug the transformer into the tube itself and see if it lights up. If it does you know its a bad switch. If it doesn't then likely a bad transformer. I would contact Aqueon about it also, but at least you would know what the issue is.

Re: Aqueon Modular LED Light died
One issue I've seen in lower quality LED lights is that they aren't sealed properly, so moisture can cause the soldering to corrode and break. I've never had any expierence with the Aqueon tubes though, so you can just ignore everything I said if it's not helpful

Thanks DMD123, that was my next move but I thought I'd see what you guys had to say first. Hopefully the switch is the problem, it's amazing to me how much those dang things cost then they just don't work like that. I'll see if that helps.
Thanks guys!!!

I have mine on a Current USA Single Ramp timer, so I never have to touch the switch. It also has a dusk/dawn fade for the light too.

I hope you modeled for that photo. Hahaha! Those look pretty neat. I might have to invest in one. All I know is they are hating that T5 light.

Not my hand, that was from Current USA's website. I think they used a professional hand model...

Re: Aqueon Modular LED Light died
If indeed your fixture is toast, check out the ones from "Current USA" they start at 59.oo on Amazon. They come with the remote that does all sorts of cool stuff like lighting strikes, dusk/dawn modes, cloud modes and so on. I hope you resolve your issue though....

That sounds way cool! I actually emailed Aqueon customer service and they sent me a new plug in for it at no charge. It's working great now.
