Current breeding setup. I'm going to have to move all these tanks to a house in a few months so the stand was pretty much done half fast and cheap as possible. 2x6's and cinder blocks. I also have a 37 gal, 55 gal and had to put a 10 gal in the fireplace because i ran out of room for a hospital tank, hahaha.

Welcome ... that's a lot of tanks. What size are they? What's in them more importantly.

Very cool, I like the rack system. Everything is nice and tight. Are you breeding for specific coloration in your guppies / endler's?

Re: New in the Muk.
I have 3 endler types. Tiger, black bar, and red chili. Lots of guppies and right now I'm just weeding through them so i can get some better quality, but i like the cobra and snakeskin so i think i'm mostly going to be breeding those and eventually moscows.

Re: New in the Muk.
I stopped writing that blog and have moved it to http://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/corydoras now. I don't get as much time anymore to do the DIY projects
Now I just make youtube videos as it's faster for me You should check out the summer tubbin threads/videos and breed some livebearers outside this summer.

Hahaha, I wish. I'm renting a condo right now. Been house hunting though so hopefully will have a place soon to expand. Really wouldn't mind a pond with wild type mollies... and just a bigger fish room in general.

Too soon for a 'nice rack' joke?

And the staggered ones are always much, much easier to work on the tanks but you don't see them often.

Thought you might like this. Showed up on my facebook feed today. I was telling you Charles Clapsaddle makes the best mollies. Just so happens he made a blog post about his setup today.

Re: New in the Muk.
That's awesome. I've been looking into the costs of building some sort of greenhouse or sunroom and using ponds for some of my fish. All the houses I've been looking at have well water which would be way better for all my livebearers right?
Re: New in the Muk.
Welcome to the box, and great job on that rack setup! Glad to see there are awesome fish keepers in the Muk!

That depends on the well. When I was on well water it was only 5dKH and 4dGH - pretty low hardness as far as livebearers are concerned. It couldn't hurt to grab a water sample from each house and use an API GH/KH test kit after the fact.
I boost my tanks to 7dGH, 7dKH (I'm 4/4 out of the tap). Though livebearers generally prefer higher than that, my shrimp will tolerate 7/7. They will NOT tolerate 10/10. I had a tough time keeping my platies alive consistently until I started supplementing GH and KH with every water change.
