Giant Jurupari
So after having my big tank go through hell, i was finally able to bring home this beauty of a fish tonight!

Its a huge Jurupari from aquarium coop in edmonds. For those that dont recognize him he was in the 340 gallon with hank and managed to survive. Luckily cory offered him to me and now he has a new home along with my rainbows and much smaller jurupari. Gotta say hes amazing to watch swim around!

Re: Giant Jurupari
That's too funny, I was just admiring it earlier today during my visit. (Though, it's a S. leucosticta rather than a S. jurapari)
Great pickup!!! Beautiful fish.

Re: Giant Jurupari
It's really confusing since S. leucosticta was sold for years as S. jurupari and are still called such by the native collectors. The S. leucosticta are much prettier though, so it's not a bad thing. Even a google search shows both species under the name, but Seriously Fishy has a good shot of an actual Jurupari:

Oh i see a big difference in color. Both my fish have a lot of red on them compared to tealish blue on that fish. And ya im sure it doesnt help jurupari is easier to say/remember than leucosticta.

Thanks! cant wait to see him acclimate and get more comfortable in the tank. Its funny, from the second i put him in the tank my smaller jurupari instantly swam to his side and hasnt left it all night.
