Newbies!!
Hello,
My wife and I are newbies.. I kept fish for many years when I was younger, including a tank with about 20 African Cichlidss way back..
Our daughter is 7 months old and LOVES fish, so we decided to get a tank. We started out with a 3.5 gallon (see my review of APFP in Burien..) and that has since been changed into a Betta tank with 5 Norman Lampeyes and a Pigmy Cory. We recently set up our 60 gallon with about 25 Glofish, 15 Green Tiger Barbs, 15 Harlequin Rasboras, 3 different kinds of Corys, and 2 Pleco's which we affectionately call Ebony and Ivory.. It's a live plant setup and we're really happy with how it's turned out so far. I've got a few more things to move around in it to clean it up (i.e. the bubble tube placement will be changed a little bit) and we're going to add another light at the front of the tank as well.
Our stand (Petsmart..) was a complete nightmare but luckily my father in law is an amazing wood worker and great wish projects, so we shored it up and mounted it to the wall.. If anyone wants to see the pictures I'll start a thread with the photo's.
Will
Photo's to come, just trying to get them to upload..

Re: Newbies!!
Pictures added to second post.. Was using HTML not IMG tags..
Thanks everyone! Happy to hear any comments on the tank too, good or bad.
I've since added a second Cascade 300.. plenty of filtration for the 60 gallon haha.

Re: Newbies!!
welcome! your tank looks good, i'm sure it will become even better with age, like a fine kentucky bourbon ;)plants will fill in and you will most likely get more species if you are getting addicted to plants like a lot of people here are, myself included
if you have trouble with plants, especially swords, dying back you could get some root tabs, if you don't already... i can't grow swords without them haha
edit; lighting is also something to consider investing in, if you haven't already... i didn't start really having fun until i got a good grow light for my tank
edit again; i just re-read the first post; if you are considering getting lighting anyway, i would recommend led lights specifically meant for plant growth. they are efficient and very effective, in my relatively limited experience with them

Great to meet you too Angelo!! Thanks for the warm welcome up there, and we're really happy with the light, plants, and substrate we picked out up there

Thank you!! We love the tiger barbs, they're really fun to watch as they dart around the tank.. Since they're in such a big group they leave everyone else alone which is really nice, one of our Corys thinks he's a tiger barb and it's pretty much hilarious to watch.
I'm curious how the glofish will go too, my wife loves them, but i've heard they don't live very long a few different places now.. we'll see!
