Host an Image not working?
Don't know if its just me or if its the forum but when I am trying to post a reply and click on "host an image" nothing happens. Anyone else?

I don't use that feature, but tried it and it seems to work for me...

I click on the host an image button and nothing comes up...no options for uploading, nothing. I'll try rebooting and see if that works. And yes, I see your pic Cory.

by nothing comes up, do you get a blank box, or nothing at all? Does a box come up for the "Insert an image" or "Insert a link" buttons?

Re: Host an Image not working?
Nope...no box...no nothing...I click it and nothing happens...my cursor just sits there and no boxes open up.
And many of the threads are giving me fits as far as replying...I've got squished boxes for the replies with no header (the part that holds the shortcuts)...I have to type something into the box and then do a preview to get the box to open up so I can use the shortcuts...probably something with my computer. It always seems to be glitchy with stuff. I don't know why.

You're not alone on getting the squished box, I'm getting that too. Instead of typing something and going into preview, can you do me a favor and refresh the page and see if the toolbar shows back up afterwards? If it does, then try to post a picture and see if it works then. I'm working on a complicated theory here based on forum feedback on the forummotion site, and the refresh case is different from the preview case.

Re: Host an Image not working?
I have "squished" boxes for the quick reply as well, but I assumed that was from the AdBlocker that I use.
If I want to use anything from the toolbar or emoticons, I just click on the Reply button at the bottom left and that brings everything up.

Tried the refresh...didn't work and still no host an image option. Maybe it's Chrome...

odd. I posted this from chrome at work and from home. Not sure what's causing it.
Re: Host an Image not working?
Donna, try using the Reply button for now. All of the features are there, including the image hosting.

Re: Host an Image not working?
Just to clarify, this is what people are seeing (for those who haven't noticed yet).
I'm not *totally* sure what's going on, there may have been a setting that disabled the features in the quick reply section, but all the features are there, when you press the "reply" button at the bottom left of the page.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please bear with us while we try to fix this issue.

Re: Host an Image not working?
When Donna goes to the Reply button (or preview also works), the host an image button doesn't work there. She clicks it but no window pops up.

Re: Host an Image not working?
Odd... the only thing I can guess is that Donna's browser is suddenly blocking pop-up windows, thus preventing the "host an image" window to pop up?
Re: Host an Image not working?
Oh. Donna are you using Android phone or pc? On my droid phone samsung note 2, I rebooted my phone it worked. I had the same problem awhile back. Thought I got in trouble and mods took that ability from me. Lol. Try rebooting your phone or pc.

Re: Host an Image not working?
The box comes and goes randomly (connection quality seems to have something to do). The angle I was looking at is that the code to render the textbox seems to depend implicitly on all image elements to be loaded locally before rendering the box. If you're on a slow connection and not all the images load quickly, you can get a foobar state where you get the flat box. This is why when you refresh or hit preview, you have a better chance of getting the thing working (because everything is cached locally). This is possibly worse on pages with more pictures on them. It is also probably due to server problems on the icon host. Unfortunately this is probably one of those issues that hopefully resolves itself magically over time (when someone at the host updates the server, or when forummotion quietly fixes the code on the website).
Donna, in the meantime, to get you posting, you can go to servimg directly: https://servimg.com/
Log in with your account, and should be able to post images directly. Then come back here and paste their image code as needed

Donna, have you tried clearing your cache and cookies? I usually do that early on when I have a problem with one site and sometimes it actually fixes the problem.

Re: Host an Image not working?
The links that aren't working are hosted on that site. If you can't go there, it explains why the links aren't working.

The links that dont open are the emoticons in the above task bar and the host an image tab, when you first
post a message

Re: Host an Image not working?
Well, looks like this is indeed one of those magical "internet is a series of pipes" problems:
http://help.forumotion.com/t129928-only-topic-emoticons-not-working
http://help.forumotion.com/t129948-image-host-not-working
Not much we can do besides wait for the technicians to get it fixed. I didn't find any official announcements.

Re: Host an Image not working?
Again, if you are unable to use the "host an image" button, you can go to https://servimg.com directly and post your pictures there, then come back here and use the BBCode they give you on that site to link the pictures, just as you do with the "host an image" button. This isn't as pretty as using the easy host button, but it can unblock you while forum motion figures out what is going on.

Re: Host an Image not working?
I notice that on some posts there is no option to even post a picture. I just get a blank reply box with no emoticons or front changes available. When I post then it allows me to go back and edit and add these. That is the only issue I have seen. I posted pics today with the host picture feature and it worked fine for me then.

Re: Host an Image not working?
If you hit the reply button it should work. The quick reply has been buggy since I tried to upgrade the forum. I'm not sure if there is a fix I an find for that yet.
