So I did it. Removed the African fern took it to Aquarium CoOp, got me some credit & traded for Java Needle Leaf.
This piece of wood weighs in about 30 pounds. It's over 2 foot wide, about 20 inches tall, hollow with a large opening in the front. Sure looks bald without the fern...

HEY MRTom, here is some of that algae we where talking about at the CoOp.

Here's a bunch of that Needle Leaf. This wood is really old & is soft about 1/4" deep in spots. Makes it easy to attach plants with a toOth pick. Now, it's all about time, waiting for the plant to fill out :)should look pretty good.

Some Stargrass I got a few months ago from Poke is filling out the foreground nicely.

And finally, my new fav catfish making a dinner time appearance. It's a nocturnal SA bumblebee I got from bronzefighter a while back.

It's the ONLY plant in years I've been able to create a carpet in the foreground. I am totally happy with the resultsPokeSephiroth wrote:OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!! Looking nice! :Dthose Needleleaf Java Fern will fill in all beautifully for sure

I love your tank...I know that when that needle fern starts growing it will just shine in there as all the rest of your plants do. Keep us informed with pics.
