Re: Articles on cool water fish.
The first article Cory posted was one of the first I read when I started getting more seriously into fishkeeping, and even if you aren't into cold water fish, I would recommend reading it. It really made me think about how I use heating in my tanks, and while now I heat them all, it has always made me want to keep an unheated tank with some compatible species.
Just so that I am contributing something, I found this species (mentioned in one of the articles cory posted) to be very attractive, and something I might have to shoot for in the future. http://www.seriouslyfish.com/species/aphanius-mento/ Interesting that it's from Turkey, not an area you often (or ever?) see in the hobby. I am trying to find more info on small European/Northern African fish for the aquarium, are there many or do most of them get too large?

I just read the article on aphanius mento and I have to say my mind is blown... 2 degrees? Crazy talk! The whole aphanius group is very interesting. Has anyone kept these fish around here?
