Water aging question...
Ok, had a thought the other day that if cut the top out of a 55gal water barrel not in use I could put 4-6 inches of crushed coral on the bottom and filled it with tap water everyone I finish a round of water changes I would have BETTER water and save in both time and dechlorinator...any thoughts or suggestions? Majority of my species are rift lake folks

you may save in declorinator though you would want to check for heavy metals. No idea about the other.

How often are you changing water? You'd need ample time for the coral to dissolve into the water for it to really help.

youd want to throw a nice sized air stone in there. you need the surface agitation for the chlorine (or chloramine) to dissipate properly. other then that ive heard of people doing this for their discus. only issue would be draining it for water changes.. its gotta be high enough so that you can get suction but low enough to be able to interact with it. .0
