Hara is starting to show!!
My young Male White Top Hara is finally starting to show his color throughout the day. He used to be more on and off,on and off.
Now it's like all day he has the really light blue, almost white body, and that beautiful beard, and stripes.
I can't wait until some of the females in the group are mature enough enough to spawn.
I'm gonna be saving fry from these for sure when that happens.
The particular male I'm referring to is still about 1/2 the size, maybe a little more than the Hara I got from anthraxx, which I keep in my all male setup.
That male I had for like 2 weeks before I decided I needed a breeding group of white Tops.
I thought it would be both pricey,and difficult,but actually it wasn't either. I paid 55$,got 10 1" fish,
even though my deal was for 8,the vendor bagged 2 extra just in case there were deaths during delivery, which there wasn't. I'm so glad I took the plunge. Now I wait to see those females holding, but until then I will share some pics of the little guy!!

The last pic has him showing that almost white I mentioned. Crazy how mbuna can just color change to so many hues.

Quite the looker. Cynotilapia are fun fish...not too big (like those ones that Madness has) and not too small (like those shrimps)....just right!!!

Awesome! My Blue Zaire Fronts are starting to get that purpleish tint to their fins and are coloring up nice. I love when you can see the changes in your fish!

Nice looking little guy. His fins are in great shape -- I guess he's not being picked on.

Not at all. He's in a tank with RZ's and Rusties.Betty wrote:Nice looking little guy. His fins are in great shape -- I guess he's not being picked on.
I have been keeping a close eye on my male zebra, because he is blue, but he really has put all his interest in the RZ females.
Plus I always overstock females to help curb aggression. It's something that has always worked well for me

Yeah, really that's the case for just about any mbuna, except maybe PS. Crabro,Ps.Acei, and Ps.Williamsi.cichlid-gal wrote:Quite the looker. Cynotilapia are fun fish...not too big (like those ones that Madness has) and not too small (like those shrimps)....just right!!!
Coincidentally I happen to keep two of those species as well, and have kept Crabro in the past too!!
