Epic weather outside... Flooding streets!
Anyone else just get some epic rain? Got some thunder too... It is now WAY hot and muggy.
Re: Epic weather outside... Flooding streets!
I knew that I should have stayed in Arizona, now I know why my son wanted to go to school there. I hate the rain.

Re: Epic weather outside... Flooding streets!
I was dying on the elliptical out in the garage today... just miserable humidity.
This afternoon we got hit by some nasty red stuff on the weather radar; before I cleared the storm drains out in front of my house the road had filled up with about 6" or so of water and it was spilling over into the woods on the far side. I made some fantastic, loud, muddy vorticies with my metal rake clearing the leaves out of the drains. This was like the rain my wife and I encountered in the tropics during our honeymoon.

Yeah, well, mister "lol", you also don't have 50+' trees all around your house. Fall on my street is a lot of work. I really should have set aside budget for a backpack blower this year... Tell you what, you're welcome to stop on by one of these days and help The best time is November.BillHN wrote:

I know exactly what your talking about pbmax, I have green belt on 2 sides. I got the blower 2 years ago, this year its a generator. Gotta love those trees. Except in the Fall and Winter. lolpbmax wrote:Yeah, well, mister "lol", you also don't have 50+' trees all around your house. Fall on my street is a lot of work. Well, we did have a fantastic summer this year, all things considered. The humidity is a small price to pay

Re: Epic weather outside... Flooding streets!
just be glad you live where you do...I didn't know what humidity was till I joined the army and left the NW...Texas, Maryland, North Carolina....those were humid places, and I know theres worse..
I welcome this weather except for two points: my apartment management refuses to plant grass where they said they would. I asked them this as a prospective tenant...now they got a lease, what do they care? the grassless area in question is right out my back door. I have a golden retriever and a black lab. mine is the only unit without grass behind it. -shrug- that's reason enough for me to not renew my lease- rain+dirt+my dogs=not-beige-anymore carpet
second, im currently doing some work on my sailboat, and im testing some paint on the hatches, which I have on my back patio...soooo...my boat is wide open to the elements right now. its ok, sort of, I do have to build a new interior for it
but otherwise, im likin the cool moist air!

Was in Lacey earlier and it was just streams of water, no drops whatsoever.

I know what you mean! My car seats are beige and the barn is a muddy mess when it starts to rain. My dog just loves to find the biggest mud puddle and roll in it.nick_76 wrote: rain+dirt+my dogs=not-beige-anymore carpet

Re: Epic weather outside... Flooding streets!
Humidity? Here? Seattle? Pacific Northwest? Hah.
You try living in a place so humid, where, once you get out of the shower, you're already sweating and feeling sticky. Yeah. The Philippines SUCKS.
You sirry Americans. =P
Like what nick_76 said, at least our summer was better this year, than it was last year.

Western Washington is a fantastic place to live precisely because we really don't get any extreme weather at all. It's not too hot, not too humid, not too dry, not too cold in the winter, and the scary weather is very, very rare.
