Dwarf Pea Puffer planted tank ideas?

I have one lone pea puffer in a tank by itself. 20 gallon currently but thinking about moving it to my 10 gallon hex since they only require 5 gallons per puffer. I was wondering if anyone has ever kept a pea puffer. I got this one for free and had wanted one and read they do well in planted tanks but don't do well with other tank mates unless other puffers. Has anyone ever kept these puffers or had luck breeding them? Also, wondering what plants would be best for a puffer tank??

That's not a pea puffer. That's a green spotted puffer.

Okay, I was told it was a dwarf pea puffer. It will stay small though correct?

Cute little bugger! unfortunately, I'm not sure what kind of plants you could keep with those things... I'd try java ferns, and maybe a huge amazon sword...
I think green spotted puffers grow up to 6 inches.

Oh man, well it hasn't grown any since I've had it and that's been almost 3 months now. I wonder if they are just really slow growing fish? If it gets that big I won't be able to keep it in the future.. dang. Guess I'll find out.

As for not growing for 3 months, does it have white stringy poop at all? Puffers are known for internal parasites.

Nope, haven't noticed anything unusual about its poop, eats well, follows me around the room "greets like a dog" like they say they should. Weird. The person I got it from said it came from walmart so maybe it has genetic issues? Lol I would say it is about an inch long. From beak to end of tail.

This makes me want a pea puffer.

Oh I'm famous on here now lol that was my tank and has since been retired and tanks and scapes changed.

The second I saw pea puffers living in a tiny tank like that, I was like.... I need to get some for snail control (maybe they'll love it ahhahaha)
