I even fit through the access holes....which is really saying how big they are. My four year old refused to exit when requested.....how do you net a four year old girl?

Yes they are doing well the jags and Dovii pairs got right together . Thanks Madness they are wonderful. The female jag is the touchy one I think?

She is like a nagging wife. Always pestering the male. Both pairs should be ready to spawn again, and with the change in water conditions, it wouldnt surprise me that it sparks them to spawn fairly quickly for you.

Very lovely Jag fish...really stand out.
I don't know much about big tanks like the ones you are running. I noticed a lot of individual heaters in the tank, thinking that is just temporary but not sure. Is that how you would normally heat a tank this size or do they make special heaters for large tanks like these? I'm clueless.
I was trying to find what the dimensions of a 1500 gallon pond are? Is it simply a covered/enclosed area outside as you say "indoor"? I've seen people in the warmer areas do pond like tanks but I'm not sure how that would work in our colder areas. Can you see the fish in a tank that size or do they just disappear into the depths? How do you heat the water in a tank that size?
Curious mind looking for answers to interesting stuff Thanks for sharing.

Re: fish in the 480.
In the 480 I have several heaters but they ar all small. I will put two 800 watt and in winter a heated blanket wrap. Acrylics hold heat well so I am learning what it takes to heat it as I go. The pond uses a stock trough heater for now and a propane on demand heater by winter, mainly for water changes. Right now with it being cool out 600 watts keeps it warm in the garage.

Re: fish in the 480.
Africans are still there. Kigoma fronts have two females holding. Another 12 days to go on one batch and 17ish on the other....I did not see the second so not exactly sure what day. I hope not to strip them. The first female has never held before second is on her second batch , lost the first after three days. I slid off all the grow outs and a few breeders to finance getting a bigger tank, then lucked into the 480 and 770.
