and about 1/2 way down is my Tank tour...that was Christmas so things have changed a little but it will give you an idea...and most updates are up on the youtube page except for a new betta, the pulchers, a 55g/33g stack housing some new Vics (Psammachromis) and the Egyptian mouthbrooders ... anyway...I'm always switching things around to make more room...never seem to have enough

Re: Babies babies babies
Thanks Infamous and Betty and Betty you know you are on my list for those victoriae if I actually end up with some...I have her in a box so we shall see how it goes...I'm very interested to see the spawn with the fry...the stuff I've read makes things sound very interesting...one article writes the following:
Unlike the better-known female mouthbrooding cichlids of Lake Malawi, which release their fry in the shallows and then move on, this tiny mother will continue to protect her fry for several days after release. She provides them a shelter at night and whenever danger threatens. After a couple of days, it is almost comical to see the nearly 100 juveniles try to dash back to their mother’s mouth when you walk up to the tank. I’ve seen so many juveniles that outgrew their mother’s mouth still trying so hard to get in that there were tails sticking out of her mouth and heads protruding from her gills – with even more trying to get in. This is why, for the mother’s health, it’s best to remove her as soon as she releases the fry and give her a couple days to recover before moving her back to the main tank.
I don't know if I agree with the writer of this article in the "comical" sense of things and I don't expect 100 fry ...just expecting maybe a small number of them (10-15 if that) as she is very young and even when older I tend to doubt the 100 numbers and think they are far far far overexaggerated. I'll move her as soon as she spits to another tank to recover for a bit. Crossing my fingers all will go well.

Thanks cichlid-gal. Good luck with the spawn. At her small size, I wouldn't be expecting too many either. I think it's pretty cool that she's already holding.

Anthraxx...I saw all your babies...how did you grow them out? I keep the babies in the bare bottom until they are about 3/4 to an inch then they move to the 55 growout. That seems to be working well so far. That batch of zebras though will maybe have to move earlier as its 2 moms babies so a few more than one spawning.
And Bassetman thank you...those boxes you recommended work great. I have used them a couple of times now. Wish I had more of them.
