As some of you may know I am a very young person. I just ask that you please treat me normally and not like a baby. I was hoping nobody would notice my age but they did.I have full permission from my parents to be on WA fish box. My mom sees what I write on here and she know I like it on here. I feel like I have made more friend in the hobby of fish than ever before. I thank you all for being my friend! All I ask is that you treat me like you would anobody else.
Thank you for reading!

I was just making a fun with the "parental permission" thing... I actually thought perhaps you where older and put 11 on your profile to be funny. I poke fun of a lot of ppl and you where neXt on my list
If your actually 11 - that's pretty cool! If you've noticed by the responses to your posts everyone has been communicating to you "normally". You maybe the youngest person on WashFishBox, neatO!
Have fun

Re: Earthfish
The hard part about the internet is that you never really know who the other person is on the other side. Sure you can say you're 11 but how do we know? I faked my age and so can you. I think its awesome we have young people on with us. I enjoy conversing with people who have the same interest as me. When I see an age next to a name I take it with a grain of salt and don't care how old you are. But when my children were 11 they did not have permission to be on the internet just because I didn't want them conversing with people who said they were the same age but had the potential to be something else (like a very bad person). Now that they are older I have no problem since I know they have complete awareness of whats going on in the interweb world. Nice to see your parents trust our people on this site...as they should. It speaks volumes about who we are as an aquatic group of people and should be a reminder to keep our words guarded since we have such young participants on board with us. Cheers

I thought you were older the first time I noticed the age! I was happy to see another "old" lady on here.earthfish wrote: i did fake my age for a while and then I changed it to my real name YES i am really only 11
You are way ahead of me when I started keeping fish. I think I was about 11 as well, but my first tank was a big pickle jar with a guppy in it. I hope you'll continue to enjoy the hobby for as long as I have.
I think the members here are pretty cool, but be careful about giving out any of your personal information like your phone number, address -- that sort of thing. (I'm sure you already know that, but I can't help myself.)

I'm one of those people, Bridget, and it is fantastic that you are here on Fishbox! It was a real treat to have you at the table at our SWAP! I hope you will be there for our next one.
Like you, I started at a young age. Like Betty, I was given a jar with some Elodea, a little sand in the bottom and a couple guppies when I was 10 years old. I carried it home in the back seat of the car from our visit to my aunt's home who gave it to me, in Calico Rock, Arkansas to Roanoke, Virginia. It was a 24 hour ride! I really loved those little fish, and have loved the aquarium hobby since then...! And I did not lie about my age on here!!!!!
Many congratulations to your parents for supporting you and your hobby. I know mine supported me and I will be thanking them until my dying day.
See you around the forum!
Ron
P.S. ...is there really such a thing as a ''normal'' fish person??? Maybe our abnormalities makes us ''normal'' fish persons?!!??
P.P.S....please say hi to you Mom and Dad for me!

Re: Earthfish
This is excellent. It is great to see more people get into the hobby especially younger generations. Getting involved in forums is a plus too. Must say that is an excellent set of tanks for being 11, right on!

So, Bridget, are you familiar with the symptoms of MTS...Multiple Tank Syndrome? At such an early stage in life! Tisk. Tisk! I'm afraid you've acquired the disease! And I hope you can't shake it off...!!!!!!

Re: Earthfish
Unfortunately, I can't be there, friend. My 14 year old granddaughter has a softball tournament in tri-cities this weekend and we always go with her and her Mom. It's a weekend we stay with cousins over there too.
BUT, I'll be at the auction in spirit! It was the very first GSAS meeting I went to 3 auctions ago! It's a blast and I know you'll love it. Have fun....!!!!
