It does matter. You cant have a generic pair of fish from two different stores spawn and call those F1, thats not how it is done. F1 is the first generation of WC pair.

Some line breeders inappropriately use F1 to mean first gen with the trait they want . It is confusing

Really have to be careful with the terms when shopping/buying fish too. I have run into people that will call anything WC or F1 just to jack the price up.
