Liquid CO2
Anyone have any experience with any type of liquid CO2? If so, what did you use, and how did it work out for you?

I'm currently using API CO2 Booster for my ten gallon, to help fight off black hair algae. Can be used in a diffuser, though I just measure it out and pour it in. No problems with it. What are your concerns with co2?

Re: Liquid CO2
The Manager at B&I likes to recommend that over the Pressurized Co2.
I've got a bottle of it, but honestly I feel that you'd get your money's worth from a DIY setup (that and u can order parts from china for cheap on ebay)

Re: Liquid CO2
I've only been using it for a week, and only after replacing most of my plants with new ones. Though the hornwort has EXPLODED! Its already 3 times as big as when I got it. I have another start in a different 10gal that isn't as big. So yes, in less than a week, I've already seen some pretty amazing results. Obviously the slower growing plants won't grow that fast, but it should bring out the color and increase the overall health of your plants. I've used ferts before in the past, but never seen noticeable results like this. Not sure the effects of larger tanks though, but I would figure it to be similar.

Re: Liquid CO2
As I understand it, "liquid co2" is mostly an algaecide with some carbon supplementation qualities. It's decent at killing / controlling some types of algae, but you'll get much better results with DIY or pressurized CO2.
I've been using flourish excel for over 2 years now in some of my tanks and it does keep the algae down.
@CrazedAce - that's interesting because liquid CO2 products have been known to melt hornwort just like vals. Maybe you hit the sweet spot![Smile](https://2img.net/i/fa/i/smiles/icon_smile.gif)
