If you can take it out and take a close up pic of its belly, I may be able to help you. And dont be scared, I have taken fish out and put them on a sterile towel and performed surgery, and they have been OK.

no you wont stress it out. I have even taken fish out and hand fed them. It will be fine.

I agree with Madness. I have done it a few times, and it's never affected my fish.
