Well sorry Llyod, I guess that I did get some of my water into your tanks. Today I have free swimming Zonatus, and Catamaco Fens. The Jags have 3 week old fry as do the Red Isletas and Dovii. The Catamacos also have 4 week old fry already in a breeder tank. Today my Umbee and Red Texas laid eggs, and the Jags, RD, Dovii and Hoga are about to, again. No displayed in the video below are my Trimacs which also spawned 4 weeks ago, and I just noticed that my Peruvian Festae are also preparing their pot with their tubes down.

ha ha. i think you may have also accidentally dropped a fry in my tank too! tonight while doing a WC on my tank full of my "time out" fish, i found one fry that was about a 1/4" to 1/2" in length, striped and shaped like my festae growouts..... the strange thing is that none of the fish in that tank have been in there for longer than a couple of weeks and i am guessing that the fish is between a month and a month and a half old. it is now swimming happily(not hiding under a rock) in my grow out tank with my other fry that I got from you Laughing

So, thanks for the gift, Madness!

Well woke up this morning to chaos in the Umbee tank. All eggs were gone, the male was beat up, and the RD was on their side.

I hope you aren't getting rid of that awesome looking redish/pinkish that I you got a few months ago from up north.... I loved that one, and was hoping that you would be spawning it soon, so we all could get some of the fry.....

He has a white female in with him right now, but they are showing no interest in each other. I wanted to put my blue female in with him but one of my Xilo grow outs beat the crap out of her last night, so she has to heal up before she goes in with him.

I am impressed that you were able to make heads/ tails of that post. lol sorry about the poor typing skills. I was trying to entertain a conversation with my wife and type at the same time....

Do you have any pictures of that redish/pinkish male and that blue female? I 'd love to look at them again!

There is 'spawnage' (by the way NOT a real word!) everywhere. Hug

I hope my little guy did not get infected with it! The last thing I need is 'spawnage' all over my house. jocolor

Those little guys that you got from DMD were labeled RD at A Place for Pets, but they are Midas. Mel has several Midas that have spawned and those are their fry.

Yep, Mel's babies from APFP, labeled and sold as RD. If you ever watch/listen to Mel about his fish I think he refers to them all as 'Red Devil complex'. But these are a Midas (citrinellus) as far as I know. Not the typical Midevils found in most stores.

What I have always read is that the RD is more stream lined and the snout/mouth comes to a >, where as the midas is considerably taller bodied and the snout/mouth is shaped like ). The RD also does not get that huge nuchal hump that protrudes out over the eyes, it stays somewhat small and on the head. The Midas can reach sizes up to 14-16" while the RD stays 12-14", mostly towards the 12" mark.

Some more spawnage. LOL

My Peruvian Festae have another batch of about 500+ swimming now. Same with the Honduran Jags, Trmacs, Red Isletas, & Dovii. And 2 weeks ago I picked up a male and female Costa Rican Gold Dovii from a guy in Portland, Ya they have swimmers now too. Hug

Im telling you, its in the water. LOL

And I think that my long fin Green Dragon plecos spit out another batch. Cant really tell yet but dad has been in the log for a week or so now.

I was correct. My Plecos have more fry. I think that my Green Dragon LF BN population has tripled.

It looks like a couple from the first batch should be ready to go soon.
