New to forum
Hello all! I'm fairly new to the hobby. I have a 2.5 gallon with a Betta and a snail. Going to upgrade to a 20 gallon long soon. (Also I snagged a 20 gal "critter cage" from goodwill for if anyone is interested in any trades). Just trying to figure out which species I want to put in it. I do plan on planting it. Anyone have some favorites (appropriate for the size tank)? Also tap water around here seems to be consistent in being "hard" with a ph of around 7. I don't want to mess around with raising/lowering ph or hardness.

My wife wants to get guppies, so we will probably get some of those. Ill post a pic of the 2.5 when i get a chance. And ill definitely post some when i get the 20 long. About the bristlenose plecos, how big do those get? I was doing some research on the smaller plecos, i might like to get one of those "zebra" guys.

Re: New to forum
There are so many choices in small pleco that would work in a 20L. I have a small albino bristlenose in my 210g and it is a little algae eating machine. I guess they can get about 5"... but not sure on that. They are pretty easy to get with many ads giving them away because they breed like rabbits.

Re: New to forum
I absolutely need to stick with the smaller species. I dont see getting a larger tank anytime soon due to lack of space. Also, how are the bristlenose with plants?

Re: New to forum
there are a variety of Bn's and they will vary quite a bit in sizes.
I have ABN's that only seem to hit the 4" mark and then I have a few that are approaching 6"
they are pretty much in planted tanks and are easy on the plants
