aquaman to the rescue
Ok i usually never take in screwed fish but my uncle called and said he had a oscar and jack dempsey for free from his friend...The oscar came beautiful with one bite mark and no H.I.T.H or anything very beautiful 10 incher(made me sooo sad to see a big o)......Now the jack d is another story i'm sure it was a case of the 55 gal's...anyway he came with very torn fins and slight fungal infection i am treating him with salt and liquid remedies i will post pictures later but i wanted to share that i did something good today and when they are healed they will be available for free to the right home....That could be you.

It seems cruel but the cutting of the spinal column to the brain is actually a fast, effective and humane way to put a fish down. When I was losing fish due to the plague it got to the point that I was using clove oil so much that I was spending way too much money so I opted for the chop method. Had a difficult time doing it but it was better than seeing the fish suffer. Hope it does not come to that point with the JD. Keep up the good work!

Re: aquaman to the rescue
I'll decide by the end of the week.I want her to try and pull through (it is female).Very calm i'm probably keeping the oscar in my 78 and having my geo and severum in my 55.Oscar and jack are salted and medicated in big tank away from the 55.Will put up some videos later or tomorrow.

Indeed; it's one of the "approved" methods of fish euthanasia. Hopefully this won't come to that!

Well sadly it came to it this morning i hope it will never happen again i did the clove oil technique in a bucket it worked perfect.I did not have the courage to attempt a cutting method either just followed directions online. The oscar's cuts healed fine but i'm still treating him for a week might keep him i don't name fish usually but he looks like a fred lol...
