Howdy y'all from Houston?!?!?! =)
Hey everyone,
I stumble upon this site while researching on Plecos.
Well if anyone hasn't met a Texan yet, now you have
My name is Thien and recently got into Plecos after reading about the dam that's being built in the Xingu River which is going to cause many species of fish to be endangered like the Zebra Plecos.
I am currently breeding different strains of Endlers as well as different types of Shrimps.
Got some self cloning crays as well.
Pleasure to meet you you all =)

Hi Jim,
Your response reminded me of a coworker that told me that up in Washington the lingo is "You'ins?" instead of you all?
Can someone confirm this for a Texan? I've only heard..
When I first heard of that I was dumbfounded =)
Amazing how the lingo changes from state to state =)

Re: Howdy y'all from Houston?!?!?! =)
you ins??? What does that even mean?! I pretty much hear, you guys, you over there, you people, you chicks, you jerks.... Thats pretty much it....
Anyway, welcome to wa fishbox, the best local forum around.... obviously not local to you.... So it kinda takes the whole local trading, buying, selling, group buys, etc out of the picture for you... but I hope you enjoy the forum for the threads and interesting facts themselfs.

SIDEKICKING - What pictures are you asking about? Sorry I'm a little sidetracked by the whole lingo business =)
There are some interesting lingo out there being used that we're not even aware of. =)

Jim,
Rain makes fishing a little challenging. =(
I guess the great seafood compensates for all the rain.
Coworker told me the same thing about moving up there!
I might want to visit just to see what all the talk is about up there. =)
How's the mosquito up there? Do they even exist?
Betty!
You're from Big Spring now in Washington!
If anyone could describe the crazy transition, it would definitely have to be you.
How is it compared to the long, hot summers and pesky mosquitos?

Sandnuka,
I'm sure some here will consider shipping as an option of selling right?
That would be fantastic if some do.
I am going to extract as much knowledge from the site as possible.
So much wisdom are stored on such forums.

Thanks for confirming this!
At least that part of my curiosity can be put to rest.
Now I'm curious as to how it's used and how a conversation with that phrase is like.
Would you care to share some of the conversations you've had with it being used?

Re: Howdy y'all from Houston?!?!?! =)
I have honestly still never heard you'in in my whole life... and Im born and raised here..... But Im from the city... I guess people that live out in the sticks might speak improperly. Hard to find in seattle though. aquaman, where is your gf's dad from?
Im pretty convinced seattle people speak just like the people on tv... hollywood.
Not sure how many peeps we have that do shipping?? I know I would never chance sending my fish on a plane.... but you may find a few breeders in here that do. Good luck. Enjoy the site.

Rain and fish go together up here
Skeeters yes we have them, most annoying like anywhere else!!
