I don't ever go to petco so I tend to miss their $1 per gallon sales.

Was wondering if anyone has ever seen them selling tanks with a 36" x 12" foot print. At least 45gal but wouldn't mind going a little bit bigger gallon wise. Tank I just bought has a less then promising seal and I was going to have it resealed but it will cost me $.20 per inch of silicon making the grand total for my tank to be resealed is $57.60... A little more then I care to spend for a reseal job, and buying a new tank would ultimately be cheaper if I can snag one at the $1 per gallon sale.

I tried looking on petcos website but they don't list the size tanks they normally sell in stores. So I'm just wondering if anyone has ever seen a tank with the footprint mentioned above. It's kind of an odd sized tank.

That tank size is not included in the $1 per gallon sale.

The sale only applies to 10g, 20g, 20L, 29g, 40B, 55g

I wish it included other sizes because they carry a 36 x 12 footprint I like that is 38g. The 40B is a nice size tank for raising fish in though not a show tank by any means. With a 30 x 18 footprint the fish have lots of room.

why dont you seal it yourself it is very easy and WAY WAY LESS than 60$ its like 2$for rubbing alchohol 2$for a razor and 20$ for a LARGE tube where did you get this price estimate a custom tank builder lol....I have sealed 4 tanks only my first seal ever tore my turt is on a 5 year old seal now.Its very easy and no reason it should cost above 30$ to do that 45.

I've tried to reseal a tank before, only thing I accomplished was getting high on fumes and burning my nose hairs off, and my new seal leaked... I got the pricing from a member off here, he charges $.20 an inch.

@DMD-The reason I wanted one with that footprint is because I don't want to have to replace the stand too. That a bummer... Not sure what I'm going to do now.

Seen a few pop up on C-list, but not many. Sad

That is a nice footprint.

there is no way you could get high or hair burnt by sealant i use marineland sealant and did you wait 48 hours for it to cure it is nessecary to wait

@DMD-Now I think my 36gal eclipse might be leaking, I had it set up on the floor for a week and there was no leaks but since getting it onto the stand my 30gal metaframe was on, water keeps appearing at the bottom around the tank. I'm trying to be hopeful and think that maybe the weight of the tank is squeezing out water that the particle board absorbed from the last leaky tank... I've never had this much problems with tanks in my five years of fish keeping then I'm having in this last month and it's wearing on my patience for the hobby because I can't afford to have all of these tanks resealed.

It will all work out with time I guess, it's all just taking a toll on me.

@aquaman- I used marineland brand and I got dizzy a couple times while applying the sealant, the fumes got really bad after the sealant started to set and my nostrils burned so bad I had to hold my breath each time I hovered over the tank to put in another line of sealant in. Even with not breathing in, there still was a horrible burning in my nose each time I was working over the tank. And yes I followed the directions.
