surprise baby angelfish
I have been looking to get rid of my angelfish and all a sudden the tank is FULL of babies... Never even saw any eggs at all... I need the space to move my Africans to a 55 or 100 but the 20h is in the way... How long till it is safe to move the babies.

I would wait for a couple day. I hope you have some shrimp brine to feed the fry? I would move the fry to a 10 gallon and add heater and a large sponge filter. Remember to do water changes of 50% daily and dont over feed and you should do fine...

Re: surprise baby angelfish
I just got a nice size jar of brine shrimp eggs from amazon.com... shipped here in 3 days.... but then you have to setup a lil hatchery and hatch em, that takes about 24 hrs.....Thats the best way though. live fresh baby brine shrimp.... what I always fed all my fry...... you cant find any at pet stores... i just looked everywhere! closest thing i found was "First Bites" comes in a lil' bag with a picture of discus or angels with there fry swimming around them.....
With lots of water changes, feeding good food, I would say probably a lil over a month and a half after fry swimming... right?

Dennies and Petpourri both sell brine eggs and hatchery kits... I use a half gallon jar in a tank I use to artificially raise angel fry. works great..

They are swimming fine and I hadn't been looking in the tank because I kept spooking them and had to put cardboard all around it sp they may even be a week or two old

Conway Tropical Fish has both brine shrimp and hatcheries It's a bit of a drive but Corey has been great to my wife and I so I can't give him a stronger recommendation. I prefer a 2-litre bottle to a 1 and draping a piece of foil or cling wrap over the top to limit the salt spray from the bubbles making a mess wherever you set it up.
