RO unit opinions
So I'm realizing that my city water isn't as "pure" as I'd hoped and am going to have to buy and RO system. I'd love to hear what others are using and maybe even which units to stay away from. I don't think I need a huge setup being that I'm only running a 75g with weekly water changes. Please any input would be appreciated.

Re: RO unit opinions
the only person that I have met that used an RO system was bobby, our sponsors from bobbys water world... He used to change several thousand gallons a week though.... his tanks were barebottom too....
So as far as the city water not being good, I agree, but Im pretty sure its just too much chlorine... I know a african fish breeder that needs his water to be very good, all he has is a very large rubermaid can (like garbage can) and fills it with cold tap water, lets it age for a few days with corals and stuff at the bottom..... then syphons it to his tanks... his water is awesome.
Also, there is a thread on using warm water and your water heater.... I will never use warm water, so much more metals and crap in it.... again, you can age cold water, or I just put it straight in my tank.... the temp drop and clean water coming in simulates rain to the fish, and usually kicks up breeding activity.... itleast thats my belief. are you usuing warm, or cold tap water???

Re: RO unit opinions
You could get away with a 75 gpd unit.
Try Bulk Reef Supply or The filter guys

You can piece one together pretty inexpensively.
That reminds me. I need to order filters.

also, I use a 32 gal brute container, garbage can, for my saltwater mixing and holding containers.
I have a pump that circulates water twice a day for 2 hours and a heater in it.

Re: RO unit opinions
Thats what I was looking for, thank you.
Joe, I try to put the same temp as my tank, so about 78, when I mix my saltwater to add to the tank. I'm more concerned about the copper leaching into the water supply. I will definitely be checking out those websites, thanks lilfishie!!!

$66 + free shipping.
That's the one I use. Only a month in, but no problems so far.
