They also are bottom dwellers for the most part.... scratch

Another site has them listed as "ancient" fish with the category including Gars, Knives, lungfish and arowana. There are a few here who have poly's so should we add an additional section to cover them?

i had the same problem on here.id think you could get away using the aquatic predator section.they are a mid to top level semi aggressive fish and they will eat live food.id also think you should be able to post under general freshwater fish discussion since there is no ancient section..hope i was a little helpful.

On that "other" website that categorizes them as "Ancient Fish" they have these fish in that category: Arowanas, Gars & Bowfins, Knifefish, lungfish and Polypterus

Might be a good idea to add a new category.....

The only problem I see in adding a new category is the lack of threads in it..... The aquatic predators section is a prime example.... We set it up after gettin several request to have a aquatic predator... and after almost a 1 and 1/2 yr there is only a few threads there..... So the ancient fish section would be probably worse......because people are already puttin aro, gars, bowfin, in the aquatic predator section, maybe I should just call it Aquatic Predators, and Ancients???

How would that sounds?

for the technically challenged (me) how would a search engine be different from the search feature currently at the top of the page?

I think the category of predators and ancients would work as one as long as you put some info as to what types of fish fit in that category.

Thanks! Woot Woot

Could we change this line under the catagory?
Lets talk carnivorous fish and other aquatic predators.

Maybe it could say:
Discuss Aquatic Predators or Ancients like Arowanas, Gars & Bowfins, Knifefish, lungfish and Polypterus (bichir & ropefish)

I think it might help so that people know what the category includes.
