how do i paint the back of my tank?

how do i make it nice and black so i dont see the filters.do i use spray,brush,roller what.and for paint type what would i use and it would have to be water proof

rattle can the back glass (from the back) so its on the outside. no need to water proof it

have u done this i dont want it to be shiny on the inside too

What size tank are you thinking of painting?
I usually buy a small paint sample from lowes which is like three dollars
And i just use a small roller works really good

4 foot tank and isnt that gonna b messy

Its a actually quite easy unless your really clumsy lol

If your doing it indoors its gonna be messy anyway you do it.... and I would strongly advise against spray indoors.... my whole house was sticky and had black dust on everything!

The best stuff I used was a paint/silicone stuff got from home depot... just ask for it at any home depot/lowes... I just recently found that though... Ive done over 20 tanks just with regular black spray paint

i used rust oleum for plastics on my 150 and worked great and only took 1 coat

I like to use blue on mine seems to calm the fish. Plus there are not that many all blue fish. I have found with black paint its hard to see fish that are you guessed it are black.. LOL

lol... I meant latex paint, not silicone paint... lol... I just re-read my post.

I taped black felt cut to size behind my display tanks. It's not quite as nice as paint, but sure does smell better.

I met someone who used really dark window tint

matte black krylon spray paint. then tape it up really good and throw down a 2$ drop cloth from the hardware store. overall to do it right its like ten bucks but man does it come out nice. ive got a cpl pics i took awhile back when i was painting a tank. maybe they will help

I used black vinyl on the back of my big tank.. just in case the front gets scratched, I can easily remove it and turn the tank around. Goes on like window tint.
