fishloverRon's set up
Well it true that you cant teach an old dog new tricks thats why I'm posting Ron's tanks for him
So here we go, and Ron can jump on and tell us about them.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
So let me begin, very nice set up!
Cant believe you were holding out on us

I'll fill you guys and gals in later. I'm getting stuff ready for the GSAS party tonight. Thanks DMD!
Larry, how do you like the loaches in with my Malawis? I hate doing that but had to for now...!

Hey Ron I did an edit and added a pic of the tank with the goldfish and pleco.
The thing about old dogs is that they are all bark and no bite! probably would gum you real good...

Yes, I noticed that.
It's not that uncommon, actually. I'm just a stickler is all. Supposedly they'll do quite well together though.
But given the state of my mbuna show tank I'm in no position to cast stones. I have no substrate in there, and only about 1/2 the rocks I should. They're healthy, but they really do love their sand. I'd swear they're bored not being able to dig.

Wow...it would be nice if I could put together a fish wall like that.

Nice. I like the setup -- having them all together like that.

Re: fishloverRon's set up
Just got home from the GSAS Christmas party and unloaded all the stuff.
Central air system - Yes Larry. I ordered it today. The Jehmco LPH45. and ordered the 20 outlet manifold plus a 12 outlet as well and will connect them with a tube. I talked with John there on the 5th and placed the order with hime today. He was really helpful in helping me determine what to get to allow me to expand as I go. Not pushy at all; just a great consultant sales guy. That's the way I work in my real estate business. (plug..!) He set me up with all the connectors I'll need. I decided to buy the ready made manifold rather than make it myself because it would take forever and I'm ready to get this system up and running. All these little pumps are driving me crazy and the Jehmco pump I saw and barely heard at Kathy and Eric Olson's has been running for 10-13 years and you just can't hear it!
As for the Clown Loaches.... the fellow I got the colony of labs from needed a home for them because he'd sold their tank so I took them. I'm usually a stickler about keeping the fish with their geographic partners.
Later,
Ron

Re: fishloverRon's set up
You'll love the central air and manifolds. I wouldn't have my little fish room without one.
I personally use Hamburg Mattenfilters in my fish room, but that works because the tanks in there are all breeders and grow-outs. The Mattenfilters provide more filter surface, a larger bacteria bed, and significantly more water movement in the tank. I also only have to clean it every 3-6 months. I keep a few sponge filters around to seed new or cleaned tanks.
John @ JEHMCO is a great (consultant) sales guy. Their stuff is shipped ready to go. Every adapter, manifold, hose, etc is cut and fit. Even the fittings had plumbers tape on them when I received them!

Re: fishloverRon's set up
great looking tanks ron. So does switching over to central air allow you to run all air controlled filters reducing your electric bill?

Re: fishloverRon's set up
I'm not certain, because I haven't checked it all out, [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], but I do expect it to!
What I do know is that it will drop the noise level in the room which doubles as my office!
