My dream tank part 2

This is one guy I would love to meet someday. His tanks are exquisite. His fish are stunning. Please enjoy his video.

Check out his other videos on you tube. His handle is GuapolteMel. His 600 gal tank with his 27" Dovii is awesome.

And he's local. He's my inspiration for istlanum, and lyonsi. Also I try to think as my managuense pair as a mini version of his dovii tank.

What would I do with 1000g?

I see lots and lots of guppies...

+1 to guppys. I think I would do a solo betta.

I would do at least one of the giant betta and a guppy.

Are there giant bettas?????? I'm gonna look it up. Hey don't fish grow to the size of there tank?????? I'm gonna have a 20" betta. This is gonna be awesome.

There are giant betta! I am not pulling your leg. They are just a little bigger than the regular ones not real "giants".

I'm still gonna gro one to at least 2' in a 1000 gallon, because they grow to the size of there.

mel is the freakin best cichlid keeper on the planet with madness of course being a close second. i also would love to meet this guy and see his fish and hear him talk fish from his 35 plus years of keeping big boys in big tanks. hes what got me excited about big cichlids. great post madness although im not too crazy about the stock but im sure in time its gonna just be amazing like his others asw those fish grow and he adds more. great post madness

I personally just want a tank big enough so that I can swim with the fishes.

I wonder how big those rocks are in his tank. I bet they are over a foot in diameter, probably weighing at least 25+ lbs ea, if not more.

Hey you started it with the whole dream tank! And not to correct you but 1,000,000 guppies would be overstocked if you follow the 1" per gallon rule. I would only have 1,000!

No way. I have 1000 babies in a 75 gal. Guppies aren't much bigger. I say 1,000,000. Then add my big boys.

That would be a massacre!

Those guppies would kill your big boys, because they would choke to death on all those fish!

Im just curious how long it would take for all the guppies to disappear.

My dream tank is to have a tank on 3 sides of a 150 square foot room that is 3-5 feet tall. A big U-shaped one that you can stand in the middle of and have a 270 degree view of tank. And then have it be full of tropical communities and plants. Have a shoal of like 100 rasboras...

Very nice. I can picture my self sitting in a rotating recliner, watching, all day.

I think I'm a little more realistic, I just want to seal up the house and give wife and kids scuba gear.

I think it would be cool to have a tank containing the largest and smallest cichlid in the world (lake tankanyika) with an emperor cichlid and a multie colony. And of course several fish in between there sizes but from the same lake.

Then that would make it a giant African tank.

So would you all do your own maintenance on your dream tanks or hire someone to do it for you?

I dont know. I may start out doing it myself, (cause I want to swim with my pets ) and if I get tired of it, hire someone.

The rocks are fake if I remember correctly. He got them from a company that made them for zoo's and what not. Unfortunately they aren't around anymore though cause I would love a few in my 300.

I wonder how many fish stalkers mel has. I could sit and listen to him talk about fish all day lol

I just actually read what everyone was talking about rather then scanning like I normaly do..... madness, you called me an idiot, you wanna fight???? Lol... and there's no way when I get my 1000+ will it be an african tank, I just said it would be cool. And it would. Biggest and smallest in the world of my favorite family of fish, amazing!

Sidekicking, your right that was some inspiratitonal stuff, the tom barr thing was dope too. I on keeping at least a single tanganyikan tank, and planted tank because of them. Of course Kevin and Takashi Amano both play very strong roles as well.

I was cracking up. A betta in a 1000 gallon. Only thing I could think of more idiotic then 1000 guppys.

Would you even be able to see or find a Betta in a 1000 gal tank?

If it was bare bottom, and had no decor, I think you might be able to find it........ maybee.

I like the idea of the 1000 guppies too!

I would get 999 females and 1 male.

My dream tank has reef sharks...and it's big. Real big.

I want a manatee too.

And a sea turtle...and a octopus named Haggis.

I'm with Spy, if I had a 1000 gallon tank I would need a shark. Plain and simple.
