skin falling off?!

I have a paradise gourami that had old battle scars on its head, now the scars are splitting and the skin is falling off!

This fish was just starting to get his color and personality back after being moved from and overcrowded stressed situation.

Any ideas?

My gold gourami's scales were falling off at one time.
daily salt baths stopped the scales from falling off and prevent secondary infections.

its not just the scales that are falling off. its a whole flap of his skin/scales... i'm going to move him to the hospital tank to salt and monitor.

So he was in a salt bath with melafix for a week, no improvement. The I did a 50% w/c and started him on maracyn-two, still no improvement.

I don't think he could clamp his fins any tighter, and this morning I thought he was dead, laying at the bottom on his side.

He does want to eat though... I'm so confused!

you may need to cull it, so it wont suffer any longer IF you have already exhausted potential remedies.

I was afraid of that. I don't know what else to try.
