My SA tank has 5 juvie Festae, 6 juvie Ornatum, 3 Corey cats and 3 small convicts. Well, the fish were acting strange today. Everyone was colored up, fins up and one of the convicts wasn't with the other two.

Dammit.

Can convicts have babies when they are only 1"?

Yes.

About 150 of them. Mom and Dad are trying to protect their brood, but the Festae and Ornatum have skills. One distracts the male and the rest swoop in to eat babies. I'm not too interestedd in saving them because, let's face it, convicts spawning isn't a big deal..lol

Just saw more babies get eaten. Loos like about half are gone already. The festae and ornatum are chowing down.

Lol yea convicts breed at very small size. My single 1 inch female though she is over a year old now decided to lay eggs when I put her into the big tank.

I had a 6inch Common Pleco swoop in on my convicts eggs and just start eatin them ignoring the parents attackin Him.

yeah plecos have good armor like that...snacks on eggs like a teenager with Chips
