Not too happy...
So my fish are supposed to arrive today, they were shipped out yesterday at noon. This morning I got this email from Tony, the breeder.
"I can't wait to go home this evening to find out about how the shipment worked out. So I am writing you from my school where I teach. When packing the shipment on Sunday night I noticed the female was struggling on the bottom of her tank. Rather than ship you a fish that looked like it had only hours to live I shipped a replacement. It was late to tell you and I know how you were looking forward to getting the fish that I decided to ship and not worry you over the female. The original female has died since Sunday night. She may have choked on some beefheart chunk because her body looked fine.
Tony"
So instead of telling me on Monday morning, he waits until the day I'm supposed to get them and wants me to be happy with the replacement female he randomly picked out? He should of let me know so I could choose another female...I was really wanting siblings Hopefully this one still is...

Re: Not too happy...
I agree with you, i wouldn't be happy at all. He should have just waited to ship the fish until you and him came to an agreement on a new female. Because what's gonna happen if you hate the new female ?? Is he going to give you some $$ back ??

he should have shipped you the supposed struggling fish with a replacement if he was that worried. This one sounds fishy....

Re: Not too happy...
Shipping a fish deemed to die would only put the other fish and the replacement fish in jeopardy.

Re: Not too happy...
It wouldn't necessarily put them in jeopardy but I think it would stress them out to see another dead fish in the same box
Re: Not too happy...
Having a dead fish in the same water will start to decompose and will start a nitrite spike..
