Tropheus Duboisi Empty Tropheus Duboisi

I have 11 left and healthy for two weeks now, Ive given a try twice on these fish and they seem to be out of my experience level. Trying to find a good home with someone that has a lil more experience with them, asking $50 for all of them and they 2.5 to 3" in size.

Oh yea, ive had 2 cases of bloat since end of May when I bought them. The first round I had lost 8, then waited a month of being healthy and bought 12 more, then 2 months later bloat hit me really hard and wiped out my colony of 22 Chimba's and 9 of my Duboisi's.

Actually Sandnuka, Betty and I had bloat back in the beginning of August with our Tropheus, and for some reason it hit me again.

So far I havent had any problems in any of my mbuna's and I even have some herbivores amongst my carnivors and feed them a mixed blend of Hikari veggie and meat floating pellets, even my demasoni's eat it with no problems. The Tropheus ive only fed them HBH spirulina flake and HBH super soft spirulina.

I don't think mine was actually bloat. I lost several tropheus when I first got them -- one was dead in the bag and others were sick and didn't make it. I think it was the stress of the move combined with poor water quality in the bags they were transported in. (The seller told me he had not fasted them prior to bagging them.)

For what it's worth being a newbie to this forum, when I had Tropheus at water changes I would add 1 tablespoon of Epson salt for every 5 gallons of water changed and their diet was very strict veggie only. When I got them for the breeder she had said the epson salt helped keep the digestive track working well along with being preventive medicine.

Sandnuka is going to buy them in a couple of hours. There just a tough fish and maybe in another year or so I might be ready to give it a try again with them.

I've always like Trophues, but always felt they were out of my league. Great fish/price.
