I would rather have tanks like this than a TV any day.

Are you tying to breed the vics in the 80g?
Most vics will hybridize.............

Re: some of my vics and central am
my vics r growing out not breeding . i try and breed my fish when their around 2 inches , thats when they breed the best in 20 longs set up to their natural state ... i try to mimic the lake .
ive actually had a 20 long that i set up with black sand and river rock that i had in a v shape .then i put the fish in it that i want to breed , power head on one side , wait 2 days then drain tank 1/3 wait 1 day then drain tank 1/3 wait 1 day then fill tank up with new ro . wammm babys ..lol .. dont know whow why but it works ... worked good on my kyoga's also my callaptera spawned then when i put them back in the main tank the female mated with another male before i notice the next day ...

Re: some of my vics and central am
How long have you had him for? One of the guys at aquarium paradise said Ike was roughly 14 inches. But it took him 13-14 years to get that big.

Oh also do you have any smaller males for sale? 5-6 inchers. I have a 5-6 inch female
out of Ike and a couple small juvies that I'm waiting to see what they turn into.

Astatotilapia calliptera are from Lake Malawi, aren't they? I'm pretty sure they aren't Victorians.
