My S. fryeri, picked him up at a little Asian gift shop in Tacoma about 5 years ago. He was already a colored up adult when I got him. He's looking a little old now.

It was several years ago, but I remember I paid $14 for him. I thought that was a lot at the time, but after seeing the prices at other stores, it was a pretty good deal.

He spawned a couple of times with the only fryeri female I could find, but I gave away the juvies and the female died eventually. He seemed to prefer to breed with other species' females anyway, mostly the A. callipteras so I only kept a couple of fry out of curiousity. They both turned out to be males and are pretty fish.

He's always been interested in the big yellow lab, but she won't have anything to do with him -- thank goodness.

Don't you just love that little shop.. I'm assuming you are talking about the one on 36th. I really like the owner he's funny, very old school but he's been doing it a long time and deserves respect.

BTW very nice fish, grret color.

It's on 38th street, but I think that's the same one you're talking about -- he has birds in there too and the other half is a gift shop? I haven't been there in a long time now, but I did like the owner, he likes to help. Smile I found it hit or miss as far as stock and quality of fish go.
