is there any other algae eaters out there that i can put into my planted tank that won't eat my plants? i have a small group of ottos (5) and a rainbow shark that are doing an alright job now, but the the algae on the glass is being neglected. i know most plecos grow big and then make short work of plants. thats what i don't want. any suggestions? thanx.

Bristle nose or rubber nose will do just fine, I've had both in planted tanks and they did the job and left the plants alone. Neither get very large either.

+1 for BN Pleco's..... honestly, I have never liked plecos, and they never really did much cleaning, then I decided to toss in 3 BN plecos in my 55gal planted that was horribly taken over by alge... clean spotless in a couple days.... plants are perfect too.

Now all my tanks have itleast 1 BN pleco in it. Smile

One rubber lip pleco could fit depending on your stocking level.
