they were in a African Assorted Tank and looked somewhat healthy.. i liked the difference in color to what i already had so i got em.. the person who bagged em didnt know them either off hand..

Ya ! I saw those. Was thinking of getting them but thought $10 was a bit pricey. Plus, every time I buy from there, they always have some sort of infection (parasitic, bacterial, etc..).

I want some livingstonii, but I might end up settling for venustus (Petco has them on some occasions in Poulsbo).

Yes, they look like Nimbochromis livingstonii. Nice looking fish that get good-sized for Africans.
