My new ray
I picked up a pretty little lady for my male retic yesterday from Pet Pourii in Everett. Over priced but I couldn't resist her pattern. Doesn't even look like a retic. lol. She is about 5" and the male is about 7"

Re: My new ray
Nice! How big do they get? I was curious about how wide of a tank you need with them.

Re: My new ray
Thanks guys. The biggest retic I have heard of someone having was like 12" disc diameter. They say they can get up to like 24" but I have never heard of it in captivity. The general rule is the tank needs to be a little wider than the ray (from tip of disc to the end of it's tail) and their tail is usually about as long as their disc is wide...
People say retics are the hardest to keep and most sensitive to water conditions but I guess I have just had really good luck with them? Although I've found it hard to get them to eat anything other than blood worms....

Yeah I think that would be perfect. I would say 180 would be the minimum for an adult though. With a 2ft width.

Re: My new ray
Thanks! Yeah I'm not really a fan of retics actually. But I got the male about 6 months ago and got attached and figured I should get him a lady, then saw her and she was gorgeous so I had to get her.
I haven't heard of retics breeding very easily but there is a girl in spokane, ans her two retics just had a pup so that have me some hope!
