Post  APlaceForPets 2010-07-25, 12:27

Hi,
We have just joined Washington FishBox.
We have been opened for 5 years now and we are located in Burien.
We thank all the members for the good reviews we have gotten from Washington FishBox and if something is not quite what you expect, please say something.
Sean and Kevin and almost all the employees at the store have fish and many other pets that they take care of at home. We all love our pets.
We try to give good advice to people that come in to the store and have a good selection of fish from african, central, north and south amercian cichlids to lots of corys, plecos, tetras, plants, saltwater and more along with all the supplies for the aquariums.
Thank you!
kevin and all the others at a place for pets

If you're into African cichlids A Place for Pets should be considered "mandatory shopping". If the shop isn't too busy be sure to find Kevin to talk about your purchase - he always has helpful insight to offer.

We do have some large catfish! We have a 17+" Red Tail x Tiger Shovelnose, a 17+" Leiarius Pictus (Sailfin Marbled Pimodelus). We also small catfish that will get big like Tiginus 3", Jurense3", Red Tail 3". We don't have any Stingrays in the store but we can get you just about any speicies that you want Tiger, Flower, Motoro, Marbled Motoro, Teacup, Reticulated, etc. As For predatory fish we have Peacock Bass (wild caught Cichla Ocellaris) Arowanas (Silvers and Austrailan now, but I can order Blacks), an Atlantic Tarpon (Fresh Water), some different larger Gobies. We are probably the only store around with this this many different types of Polypterus, many RARE to see in the hobby. We also have some of the worlds largest fresh water puffers like the Mbu 4.5" and Fahaka 3.5". We have a HUGE selection of Cichlids, South American, Central American, And African. So many fish you just might want to stop by or call 206.244.3502. Ask for any specific fish we can order just about anything. Thanks!

Well Im definitely interested in having a stingray ordered. Is there anyway you can get me prices on a flower and a marble? Also, would they be coming in as pups or what size? Thank you for the reply!

Yeah these guys got it all, if you don't see what you want they order with no problem. I recall geting ahold of kevin on a Tuesday and asking him how quikly he could get me a 180 gallon tank. He said "how does tomorrow sound?" I got a call on wed. And he told me it had arrived and I could come pick it up whenever I wanted. These guys really put in that extra 10%. I shop almost exclusivly there (with the exception of my occasional trips to portland). I could say for hours how great this store is and what kind of selection, quality, and service they offer but I really urge everyone to go. Its a half hour drive that I aniticipate every payday and I speed the whole way. Thank you Kevin and Sean, and thank your crew too they are great.

I finally made it to APFP last week as I was in the neighborhood. I'm on the public transit
system and live in N. Lynnwood. I found the selection to be better than most stores and plan
on making the trip more often as I plan on setting up a cichlid tank with mates.

I made it to Settle in the middle of the night, I'm moving away from African cichlids to predator tank, funny! I still have my 75 Gallon Africans, but I am shortly converting that to a grow out tank for my monster tank, Smile

I still need to make it to APFP, maybe this weekend...

F.Banks, glad to hear you like the store. I have to check it out.

Like wise for me as well. I enjoy coming to this store and find it nice that the "fish" guy isn't at lunch. Everyone that works here knows the basics plus some and that I must say is refreshing.

I'll go somewhere closer if it's a few guppies but if I want to get fish schooled I definently come here Smile
