Artificial Shrimp Egg Hatching
Howdy folks, been away for a while. Busy with life. That being said, I finally got my CBS to breed and was very excited. A couple weeks go by and this morning the berried shrimp is dead/dying. I had seen the artificially hatching shrimp section on the planet invert site a while ago so I reread it and decided to give it a go. I was able to get 15 eggs out. A couple seemed to open and look like fully developed shrimplets. They all look really far along, so I guess I'll just wait and see what happens.

Anyone else ever have any luck with this?

Looks like I broke a few open during extraction. I'm hopeful a couple will survive. If not, I give up on CRS...
I'll update with progress.

Good luck!! I tried this with some dwarf orange cray eggs years ago and utterly failed. I had them in a tea strainer for water circulation, but I think snails managed to eat them through the mesh as they were all gone by the following day.
Do you have any aeration in the container? All the artificial hatching info I've read about recommend water current of some sort to replicate mom's waving pleopods.

Success! I was only able to hatch one for sure, one other un-hatched egg was added to the main tank at the same time. Still, I came in the other morning to a CRS shrimplet in my little cup. I turned it loose into the tank and it disapeared into the plants. Will it survive? I dunno. But I did hatch one, and only one.
