Maybe so he can't bite the bag potentially causing it to leak since they have teeth?

That would make sense.ShortyKiloGyrl wrote:Maybe so he can't bite the bag potentially causing it to leak since they have teeth?
When I was opening up the little container to let him out, I was thinking about the movie line from Clash of the Titans... "Release the Kraken!" He does look like a little sea monster. I think he will be a fun little fish. He was barely in the tank and was attacking his reflection soon after being released.

Haha nice! You'll have to post some more pictures of him in his tank.

Will do, soon. I had left work for a little bit just to get him acclimated and in the tank. Was only able to stay a few minutes and watch him.

Awe, that sucks. Make you nervous when you come home? I know it did for me. So far all of mine are still going well.

Re: Got the ball rolling... new fish in the works
Im not super worried since its in a tank all by itself. More worried at the war that went on in the cichlid tank when the red isletas was put back in. Everything was calm this morning but lots of battle wounds. Why cant cichlids just get along?

Too much awesome to be contained in one tank, naturally.

Stopped by the house so....

Funny angle but you can see he is 'hairy'. His little belly is sticking out cause I fed him a few small earthworms. Pretty good that he ate so soon after getting him.
Another shot, bad angle makes him look a bit elongated.

One more with no flash, this guy can blend right into the gravel!

Re: Got the ball rolling... new fish in the works
So totally weird but the little guy ate thawed krill. I guess just the falling motion was enough to trigger feeding. This is great, I thought I would have a battle getting it off live food but does not seem like it will be an issue.

Re: Got the ball rolling... new fish in the works
if that doesnt work im sure a small oyster style fork would be fine to kinda jiggle it in front of him, maybe attached to a dowel to get down deeper.

Re: Got the ball rolling... new fish in the works
After the potato reference I just want to call him Mr. Potato Head lol. I like the most recent up close pictures. I didn't realize their mouths are a little more up. My puffers is right at the end of his body.

Re: Got the ball rolling... new fish in the works
They look like that are one giant head with a little tiny body. And the face totally reminds me of a puppy. The only thing I was not expecting was that after they eat the belly get a weird distortion for a little bit before it all kind of goes back to normal. Very elastic tummy.
