Re: LIEMSSSSSS HAS BURNED DOWN
Yeah, this happened on the night of Christmas Eve
All his fish, gone due to lack of power and being able to provide oxygen to the fish. Really, really sad...
I wish him all the luck, because his store was so awesome. I hope all his mogwai are safe too.

Re: LIEMSSSSSS HAS BURNED DOWN
“This is my whole life,” said Djin Kwie Liem, who has owned an aquarium in the building for nearly 40 years. Liem explained that in Chinese culture, it is considered good luck to buy a new fish for the new year, and he had just recently received an order of more than 10,000 fish. They all died in the fire.
“Just gone,” said Liem. “No food is no problem, but no air no temperature, and fish can’t survive.”

Sounds like it didn't really burn down, but rather Liem lost all the fish

Re: LIEMSSSSSS HAS BURNED DOWN
I believe Mr. Liem was also on Komo 4 News.
From what I remember, 25 people that were living in the building were injured, and are now homeless. I believe they were only living in the first and third floors, because the 2nd floor was uninhabitable, or something like that. :\

Re: LIEMSSSSSS HAS BURNED DOWN
Thanks for the link of the seattle times its way better than what q13 has up not to mention missing a word and misspelling another.. Yeah I posted on gsas fb page and to anyone I have on my fb about the it.. glad some people know.. I will always love that store and liem. I think it really was him that got me into fish about 10 years or so ago (from liking them when I was a kid). I really hope his daughter and family help him start again... I still have yet to find my mogwai in there and I refuse to think I will never get one...

I heard about this fire, but didn't realize Liem's was there. I will never forget the first time I saw the store -- I was afraid to go in, but am glad I did. I hope everything works out for those affected.

I laughed at what you said about being afraid to go in on your first visit there, but that's how I felt when I first set foot in Mr. Liem's store. He has been around for 35yrs now. Very nice quiet man. His daughter said that the store was his passion and I hope he can rebuild soon..
