Can anyone help with why my new Apogoneton leaves are turning brown? It was a recent purchase and the bulb is hard. It is already setting roots and there were 4-5 new leaves sprouting. I was away for 5 days and when I came back, all the new leaves had grown very tall and started turning brown in the center and dying off.
Thanks for any insight

Re: Why Aponogeton turning brown?
Try to scrape away the brown stuff. Sometimes it is some algae that kills the leaves. I had that brown stuff on my swords and killing off some leaves till I scrape off the leaves and excel/fert dosed it. If not algae. Someone here might know what it is.

It may have produced a flower. Sometimes Aponogetons send up a flower to reproduce, then they die back and go dormant for a month or 2, then regrow again. They are pretty fun to have in the tank as one do you realize, awesome it's back!
