New German Blue Rams

So I got some Blue rams a couple days ago, and they have already paired-up!

From what I understand, the females have more red on their "belly". You can see the difference in the picture.

I've never owned rams before, but those sure do peak my interest in them..... nice fish!

I just have about 4 of them in my planted 55 with some various other community-type fish. They seem to pretty much keep to themselves. I removed my Dwarf Gourami, because he wanted to pick on them for some reason.

Petsmart has em on sale for $2.50 each with a petperks card (original price is like $6-$7). Sale is good till May 19th.

Male gouramis get territorial. I had to remove my recent blue male from my 28gal because he was attacking everything. This was after he had mated with the female a couple times. Try putting him back in after a couple weeks.

Thanks for the heads up! I will have to go pick some up because I just recently lost 2 of mine.

Yikes, any idea what happened to em??

Not to hijack but one got a parisite i believe and died slowly over a week or two and the other somehow got itself stuck in my tank divider overnight and by the time i got to it in the morning it was too late.

Sad . . . well hopefully you'll have better luck this time around
