New betta....how could I not ?

Stopped by Petco to have a look around, and to check out the 1$ a gallon sail. Normally I would never buy fish from them but I wandered threw to check out the Bettas...


and found this ..yeah yeah nothing great.

but what was in it was this! ..he was having trouble staying upright in the cup...couldn't just leave him...any guesses at ID? ^_^

he will be in his own 7g planted column tonight with a ton of malawa shrimp to eat.

and in his new home. ..he is acting like he has never seen plants..keeps nipping at everything

He looks very happy Kaosu. He looks much bluer under your tank lights than in the cup. Lovely fellow. When I see other Betta's I always wish they were nicer to one another so that you could raise more than one in a given tank. They have come out with some beautiful colors in Betta's and color combinations. Enjoy him!

If i need somthing at petco i rush in get it and get out...i cannot look at the fish. I can only have sooooo many tanks.

I'm having trouble with the concept of "only so many tanks"....geez...and my downfall is the internet...I look at fish and videos and pictures and fall in love with 2 or 3 species every day. I have a folder on my computer called "FISH I LIKE"...my husband groans when I click on it

..yeah if he was in the correct cup and full price there was no way I would of bought him..but sens he was 3.99 and not 17.99 im ok ^_^

thank you everyone!...he is settling in well..the flow seems a bit much for him so we have it turned down pretty low..gravel and plants seem like a new thing, he keeps inspecting everything very closely. ....the tank is full of baby malawa and black worms..he is a very happy boy.

yes his colors are amazing...when he turns he is solid green body...and blue and purple, and red....he has some crazy metallic colors

I do not know what you talk about cichlid-gal....i just bought another 1200 gallons of tanks.

Basset, were they replacements for the ones you lost in the fire, or new ones?

Bassetman...you had a fire?

update pics!!..he is turning in to a little monster..always interacting with us and noming his way threw tons of baby shrimp..he now can swim normally in the minimal flow of the filter.

..he has so many colors its crazy..and hard to get a good pic of it.....he has taken to attacking the blue ramshorns in the tank..flaring and wiggling at them...something i have seen most of my bettas do.
